My Refugee journey – 21st February 2016
Well I can start with saying that the weather was much better tonight than the first night of heavy winds coming off the sea… The day started after a mornings sleep and then I headed off to the OP (Observation Post) where I was the night before to make a permanent shelter and was informed I would not be on my own tonight and that other Ops were now also being erected to the north of me… I’ve been told I can’t say too much as now there are smugglers coming across again in the boats, so I had made the OP covert and low to the ground so not to alert and spook the smugglers which could lead to problems for the refugees and the primary task for the Emergency Warning Unit is the safety and wellbeing of the refugees coming ashore.
So limited in what I can say now about my role here on Lesvos and still allow for an interesting read and for people to know what is happening here and for friends and family to know
