Tabanovce is a Refugee Transit Camp just inside the Macedonia on its border with Serbia… This small camp has been home recently to around 1500 refugees, though now at the time of writing this, the numbers have gone down to around 600 with very few making it into Macedonia now the borders are shut and the large police presence on Macedonia’s Southern Border with Greece…
The camp is controlled by the Macedonian Police who in the time I’ve been around the camp have shown no interest for the welfare of the refugees… In questioning the police at the camp they have shown no interest, contempt and joked about the refugees.
The refugees at the camp I’ve spoken to have spoken of suicide, not enough food to go around all the refugees and the total misery the face every day.
